Community Bible Church
Focused on knowing Christ more and being changed by His Word!
A Congregational Church was organized in Franklin in 1793. In 1842, due to a doctrinal dispute, a portion of that congregation split off and formed a Presbyterian Church but the two congregations were reunited in 1878. A fire destroyed their church building in 1918 and that precipitated the establishment of a federation with the Baptist congregation, formally ratified in 1923. The First Baptist Church of Franklin was also organized in 1793 and relocated into the village in 1834 when the present building was built. The arrangement of two separate and one union church governments continued as the Congregational-Baptist Church until 1995 when the church was re-constituted with a new Statement of Faith and By-Laws as the Community Bible Church.
